Yet another celeb bff, and this one's good

So i took a job for three days this week helping to edit a david blaine special that will air on wednesday night at the conclusion of his fabulous latest illusion (remember, a trick is something a whore does for money...or cocaine): hanging upside down in central park for 60 hours. yesterday i was editing this stunt he did on saturday in orlando, which is fucking awesome: he caught a bullet in his mouth that was shot from a rifle from like 20 feet away, and it was totally legit. real gun, real bullet. and they used this camera that takes 10,000 frames per second (a normal film camera shoots at 24 frames per second) so this is the most amazing slow motion shit ever and it looks awesome. anyway you can check that out on this special on wednesday as part of the show when he comes down from his perch. doctors believe he'll go blind from this (all the blood to the head especially fucks up the eyes). and so anyway, i turn around last night from my desk in the edit suite, and he's just sitting right there. turns out he's a big drunk (according to the people i'm working with), which makes complete sense, and i can testify to the fact that he loves himself quite a little bit. and last night, before he began this stunt early this morning, he took some chick to the movies. that's pretty sweet. you want any other deets and hilarious anecdotes of my ladder-climbing, let me know.

Hey guys I know most of you chose to leave the good old city of Chicago, but for anyone who is looking for a job, our company is recruiting for people interested in being Account Executives (sales). On a side note, has anybody realized that the Blackhawks first pre-season game is next Tuesday! For those who moved away from Chicago, you sure chose a bad winter and October to do so. Chicago baseball makes it to the playoffs, and the Hawks are going to be stanley cup contenders, wow what a year! Anybody going to be back soon? It sure is quiet around here.

Wheelchair Basketball

Wheelchair basketball players can do some amazing things. It's impressive. But after the 20th game in a week, you get a little cynical about the whole thing. At least it turned up some funny (and political) news today.

My phone woke me up. The first game had been canceled because one team wasn't going to show. Fine. I figured they failed a few drug tests (which happens) or maybe it had come out that most of team can actually walk (Spain did it to win gold in Sydney).

I get to work and find out the team that packed it up and left was Iran. The reason? Basically 'we think the bracket for knockout round is unfair'. So their opponent got to sleep in this morning and won on a forfeit with a fixed score. USA 20 - Iran 0.
