IT'S TURKEY TIME!!!
I will keep this simple and straight to the point. Who is going to be in town this year and does anybody have interest in getting a football game going? My Thanksgiving starts at 4pm so I can play before.
I will be in the city for the rest of the weekend so let me know if any of you goons want to hang out, drink some beers, watch some football/hockey, fire pit, fubar 2, make some bad decisions, whatever else people do these days!

how do you make .gif's from video again?
i know someone put this up before but i couldn't find anything in the archives (is that search toolbar even functional for GB?) and i just wanted to know how to make a .gif file. for example, how do you get a golden gem of awesomeness like...
...from one of the 1980s most timeless ballads...
...which was thoroughly parodied by the great social critics of the 1990s Beavis and Butthead...
...and then used by President Barack Obama as his entrance music at the 2011 National Correspondents' Dinner (no joke)?

On a run
Tonight I was running along a busy street and I saw two guys unloading one of those refrigerator trucks. One of the guys had stacked the boxes too high. A tower of six boxes fell completely over. Boxes were all over the street. I watched his buddy, the second guy, let out the best Zach Novak laugh I've heard in a long time.

so i'm gonna throw this one out there to the chicago crew a couple weeks in advance, but if anyone is up for a weekday humpday adventure this september, explosions in the sky is playing at pygmalion down at u. of ill. in champagne urbs on 9/21 and it's a wednesday show on a school night but it's 20 bucks and I will provide scones, so you should probably go, alls'im'sayin'is better recognize, fried or fertilized. but totes for seriousness, annika's a lesbian, so we're totally doing this. if you need eyeball candy, here's a heath bar:

DOOBIE BROTHERS ARE BACK!!!
It's that time of year again, the Doobie Brothers are back for another rockin' concert at Ravinia this Friday night. It's been over five years since Hags and I were looking at a judge pleading guilty to being a minor in possession of alcohol. Who wants to raise that cooler over our heads and carry it past security with a smile on our faces!?!?!?
Tickets seem to be sold out but you can always get them on craigs list for face value. I am planning on going so let me know if you have interest in joining. "Come on judge, it's the Doobie Brothers!"

I'M BACK!!!!!
So I'm finally out of the woods of Vermont and back on the internet. Below are a couple of things I've found so far. BUT, the surprise highlight was a group of youngins from Chicago called "Kids These Days." (Great name, btw)
