My camera's being a bitch...so no pics, but here's a run-down of my two days at Coachella:
Friday:
Noisettes: HOT lead singer with tight neon pants made this one a winner. Didn't blow me away though.
Tokyo Police Club: Nothing too special...I ditched out early to meet up with Bobby at...
Satellite Party: Rocked hard. Perry Farrell's new thing. Bobby and I saw Danny DeVito here and gave him a high-five for being in such movies as Twins and going on the View drunk and making fun of dubya.
Of Montreal: Sound was shitty for the first half, but they killed the end of the set with some stuff off the new album and stage antics including robots.
Arctic Monkeys: YES! Young and sassy. Really clean set that had me rockin out the entire time.
Felix da Housecat and Benny Benassi: Killer dance tent sets. Fist-pumping beats that had the whole crowd dancing. This was definitely a good call.
Sonic Youth: Legends. The new material is so solid. Check out the track 'incinerate' on Rather Ripped.
DJ Shadow: UH. What a way to close the night.
Saturday:
The Fratellis: Meh.
Roky Erikson and the Explosives: Saw them with Bobby at Intonation last summer and decided to give him a visit. He delivered.
Hot Chip: Another winner. Had the whole tent dancing. If you haven't gotten The Warning, get it.
The Decemberists: Sat down for this one. It was good--but it was also 105 degrees. A good set to eat ice cream to.
Arcade Fire: Probably the most memorable set. They played at the main stage during sunset. Amazing. HUGE crowd--it makes me so happy to see this band become so popular.
Girl Talk: Dance Party in the small tent. Lots of balloons.
LCD Soundsystem: THE best set. Fucking rocked the house down.
The Black Keys: My first BK show. Saw it with Bobby and he gave me plenty of those Bobby looks. You know, when he gets all excited and gives you that look. I love that look. Anyway, they were fucking great. Awesome way to end the weekend.
Yes, I missed Sunday and RATM. It was out of my hands. Bobby was there. Any thoughts Bobby?
