Gorner was busy digging up dirt on the mayor, who my sources tell me took bribes to award Yes We Care landscaping contracts, when he started jonesin' for a sandwich. He steps out for lunch, crash goes the car and Gorner's across the street stealing the story of the summer. Dumb luck. Scooped again in my own backyard. Gorner did leave out one fact though: first time someone has run their car up on the curb in this town since a recently sentenced New Trier senior did it three years ago.
more updates: linda hyatt was there, got hit, required 20 staples in her leg but is otherwise okay (thank fucking god; i talked to both her and her mom tonight). ill let that sink in for a sentence. ive been in a really weird mood all night since i found out. and you know who picked her up and saved her from potentially a worse fate? alex borre, who also helped to get other people out of the way. crazy/really, really scary.
What more does Wilmette have to offer? Giberto hits a girl, gun shots occur outside of CJ's, and now an old couple crashes into Panera. Whats the deal, control your town guys! Also, check out cbs2chicago.com and watch the news clip on the story. Linda was filmed on it and she is quoted for 10 seconds, kind of interesting.

you know whats better than reading about it? Seeing the aftermath live from your bicycle, and getting the scoop from a cross-eyed NBC camera man.
