when this is the headline of your local paper, you can't hate on where you live that muchhere's what's up with me: just wrapped up a 10 week internship with curious pictures, the biggest film and animation company on the east coast and responsible for pee wee's playhouse amongst a ton of other, famous things that you'd recognize. basically where i belong, obviously. some people at this place really have my back, so now the internship's over i'm starting to be the assistant to one of the major partners in the company. still not paying me, but the potential is much more real with this than the internship i started out with, and i'm in a much better, promoted position so you know, can't really complain when i'm generally making moves (fucking finally). i split my days doing whatever, sitting in on meetings, etc. with this partner and painting/coloring frames that will appear in the new michel gondry movie, which he's animating entirely at my company. not such a bag gig. still working part time doing whatever, menial work to scrape by (this city has definitely put me in the red). so it goes.
klatt, crappin out any good stories for wamu? sherm, where are my taxpayer dollars - given to eric cantor as a campaign contribution like politico is telling me today? mike, fully settled into the new job? adam, school? coop, business is good? zach, depot? alex, website/libary? gryll, found any better work than dealing with your kids all day? who else reads this blog, hoot, whomever, how's your shit?
let's hear it.

no more d. i started an internship with this small marketing and ad agency in january. worked out well, and got a full position/offer on paddy's day last week, so my actual title is project manager. still living at home is really cramping my style, what, with the commute and daily grind, i mean you know how it goes, kids got soccer practice, bills keep coming... and now that the weather's warming up, really looking forward to driving back up north to wilmette to mow my lawn every thursday. i mean you got to find a routine for yourself, am i right?
no but the job is really fun, a ton of work, but definitely the type of company/job i wanted to be with. one of our clients is old style, and thats the account i work on. was really close to getting charlie on the "krauesen" radio campaign were doing, but the timing didnt work out (we were auditioning talent the first week i started interning there, and they had already picked everyone by the time threw his name in). but chaz, if youre reading this manifesto, im going to try and get you in for any other radio or whatever stuff we do in the future. well this is a lot of words and i doubt anyone else is going to respond, so let me conclude with the tidbit that the female american mouth is statistically the filthiest place in this hemisphere.
Some actual writing comes back to the blog.
I spend most of my time running around DC, microphone in hand. Sometimes it comes out like this http://is.gd/oOvs.
I'd say Sherm, Mike and I tackle a happy hour, a show or an open mic night about once a week, but that will ramp up when the good weather does.
Adam, have you heard of the Gargoyle? Both feet on the keg, crouch. It's almost like you invented it.
Hey Coop -- I'll keep an eye out for DU at the Frozen Four. It starts here this weekend.
I think we all need to do a Wilderness trip within the next few months to round up everyone again, thoughts???
Business is great, working hard, enjoying what I'm doing! Gotta love being in the janitorial/cleaning industry; everyones gotta wipe their ass and wash their hands so it's a necessity!
Other than that, enjoying watching the Hawks tear it up. They have been shittin the bed lately but hopefully they can peak in the next two weeks for the playoffs. The house at 191 is on the market so thats been crazy lately. Sorry Klatt, no more "SUPRISE MR.COOPER'S", perfect bei-rut games, or pool sticks flying across the basement! Don't have an apartment set but my goal is to be moved into the city by June 1st.
DU is a solid team this year. They gotta watch out for Minnesota Deluth as they smoked them in the finals and will play them again second round if they both advance.
Go Hawks!
Like Klatt said, we're basically running shit here in DC. I've been hitting up some open mics (most guitar, but did some standup... wtf?!). Just trying to find the cool hideouts in a city full of idealistic do-gooders, neurotic policy wonks, overachieving hill staffers, and homeless people. Still workin' at CEPR as a research assistant to economist Dean Baker who is pretty legit. It's a good gig, definitely. I know Hootie's coming out in a couple weeks, but if anyone else is trekking out to the nation's capital, let us know. Btw, Josh, Mike and I were at a house party last night with a bunch of Wesleyan kids (Nate, Emily and Dan). They said they saw your thesis movie and thought it was great... definitely worth the zero dollars they spent to see it.
