that was what we were shooting for, right? does anyone really have a strong opinion to offer about this? i could never really get worked up or into it either way, now i'm just kind of a little embarrassed for barack, another little slap in the face for him personally.

the avalanches is brill. it's one continuous mix of electronics with some samba and guitar and it's pretty flowery and nice.
I was disappointed to have the IOC dismiss Chicago so quickly today. That was a big shock to people who have followed the bid (months before Obama entered the picture). Selfishly, it also points my family in a direction we weren't hoping for.
What was a little more of a downer, honestly, was that half the city saw the Olympics as an unnecessary burden. The seven years of in-fighting about money leading up to 2016 likely would have made us a grumpy host city. Rio is partying on the beach today.
For me, Chicago and the U.S. lost out big.
im sure the brazilians cheated.
sure took the fun out of everything. thanks mitch.
Really solid list, but avs shouldn't be on it. Can't argue with the rest, but I haven't heard Panda Bear. What a decade it's been!!
OK, had to get that off my chest.
As for the list - hard to argue. But what's with the Animal Collective pick? Most of the others are that band's first record, setting off a torrent of awesomeness. But Merriwheather passes up Sungs Tongs, which I like more.
Err...not first, but you know, early.
yeah not a bad list actually. Funny, I was just reading this bathroom book called 'Things White People Like" -- and I guess Arcade Fire Funeral is supposedly the whitest album there is.
i'd also like to point that this my second post in like a month to get a comment du rando. yeah ill take come cred for that, thanks for offering
Interesting what you say Klatt. I was also really surprised Chi-city was eliminated so early on. But that said, South America does deserve some love, and Rio will not disappoint.
A question for Herself... are cramps real??
uh, yes.
so, mystery solved.
Any more pressing questions, Matt? Herself?
