Letter to the Editor

Eggers collects all the best stuff every year and a piece I read today fits perfectly with the blog crisis we woke up to this morning. The color of this text is a reminder.

Who pooped on my blog?

Ps. Love the content warning. One step closer to switching to all porno posts.

One more piece of alarming shit

China may be cranking out the solar panels that Joe the Plumber should have figured out how to make first (busy writing a book), but 'Mao' we have to live like them, too? Google censorship? Did anyone else see this today?

woah woah woah

so i was already to post an "airing of grievances continuation" 2.o sorta deal. (and lemme tell you, ive got quite a few gems in my photo library. josh.)...

and now i gotta deal w/ a g's b 3.0!?!??!

what's the big idea!??!?!??

identify yourself immediately, and explain why? we're all open to suggestion here, but whoever decided to change, mitch, realize this is bigger than you.

ure in the interactive medium now. ppl like tangible things. ppl respect biz cards. g w/ the program. bode miller can't save u. usa hockey can't save u. figure skating can't save u.

maybes if u approached clients with some biz c's back in 2k7 at least, we'd be cheering j-izzy benton's name. unfortunately, now we're hoping if the whole jleno/co-co thang won't overshadow the w. olympix.

thanks a lot. jerk.

Josh, quite the post below. I don't think I can follow up with anything to that magnitude. Does anybody in or around NYC want to have some sort of night on the town or epic get together before Josh takes off for New Orleans?

I leave you all with this.

new york conquered, now what

i've just made the decision to move in about 5 weeks down to new orleans for three months. i'll be working in the art department (in some TBD capacity) for the first feature made by a bunch of wesleyan dudes. the writers/director and producers were all trained through sundance for this shit, so it will for sure play there and get incredible exposure for a first feature. the video posted below is a short they made a couple years ago that made them blow up enough to get them the money to make this new film, and it's worth every second of its 25 minutes - it's a beautiful, inspired piece of work and i highly recommend it. of course i'll be quitting my job and leaving my apt here, and there's a good chance i'll just stay down there afterwards but who knows - maybe back to new york, maybe somewhere else. time to roll the dice a little bit, and this will be quite the adventure. in conclusion, go saints

Asian (Carp) Invasion

Ravenous appetites, prolific procreators, eco-system disrupting capabilities, up to 100 pounds of bad-ass fish, and they can't be stopped. Asian carp, the much-feared devastating import, has made its way up the Illinois river, into the Wilmette water treatment facility, and now, its DNA has been found in Lake Michigan. God help us all.

Movie-watching

One of two bands (Radiohead) that I haven't seen but really want to.

Plus Sundance films will be available for rent on YouTube.

PJ is home safe from Haiti!

I'm not sure how many of you know that Pj was over in Haiti, but he was. He was one of 14 Lynn University Students part of a "Journey of Hope" group that went over there to build houses. Pj and his group were there when the earthquake hit. It is my pleasure now to tell you that after 3 days of uncertainty that Pj is officially back on U.S. soil and from what I've gathered he did not suffer and terrible injuries. Unfortunately 6 people from his group are still in Haiti missing so please keep them in your prayers and and just be so greatful that Pj is safe and escaped such a terrible trajedy.

Someone something

Distractions, please. Let's see some links.
Me first.

For any music ever, for time-killing games, for Google's short online commercials that are creative, for when I'm feeling like learning is fun, plus the book I will read next, and why-the-hell-not, some Olympics coverage you never knew you couldn't live without. (I mean, cah-mon, my blog's mascot is a dog.)

But really, here's a friend's hockey piece on Team USA.

Hope it was a happy holiday fellas.
