new york conquered, now what

i've just made the decision to move in about 5 weeks down to new orleans for three months. i'll be working in the art department (in some TBD capacity) for the first feature made by a bunch of wesleyan dudes. the writers/director and producers were all trained through sundance for this shit, so it will for sure play there and get incredible exposure for a first feature. the video posted below is a short they made a couple years ago that made them blow up enough to get them the money to make this new film, and it's worth every second of its 25 minutes - it's a beautiful, inspired piece of work and i highly recommend it. of course i'll be quitting my job and leaving my apt here, and there's a good chance i'll just stay down there afterwards but who knows - maybe back to new york, maybe somewhere else. time to roll the dice a little bit, and this will be quite the adventure. in conclusion, go saints

Haven't watched it yet, but I'll be the first to say, FOLLOW YOUR DREAMS JOSH! Sounds awesome. Congratulations. See you at Jazz Fest.

Epic video. How did you get some of those shots?! The whole raft/bed/bathtub at sea had to be more than a bit tricky.

On a more trivial note, this sounds like a good move for you. Hopefully I'll make it up to NY before you peace out, but hitchin' your wagon onto these hipster hitchcocks and headin' down to the bayou spells nothing but fun... and disaster... but mainly fun.

Wow. I wasn't expecting that. This short would certainly be more than I would need to see to know I should pack it all up and head south.

Welp, guess all there is now is, don't screw it up.

(But that's just the blog talkin'. Your jacket, complete with colorful, life-like rooster patch, will be missed.)

re sherman - i didn't have anything to do with the short, it's just what made them get a lot of fancy people's attention and offers a glimpse into the destructoworld i'm entering.

re klatt - looking forward to you getting me a job co-running the world cup because i'll have nothing to do come june

thanks to all for the support, especially zach for the eloquence
